[comp.sys.mac] Some of the FIXES to Suitcase version 1.2.1

jlc@atux01.UUCP (J. Collymore) (08/03/88)

All registered owners of Suitcase can get a free upgrade 1.3 (on a 400K disk)
from 5th Generation Systems, Inc., if they'd like. This is considered a minor
upgrade and includes the following fixes (taken from their upgrade mailing
notice):

- Fixed a bug in the display of Suitcase icon at startup that could occasionally
cause other INITs to fail.

- Fixed a bug that could sometimes cause desk accessory (DA) suitcase files to
become partially corrupted when running with MultiFinder (MF) on. The usual
symptom of corruption was the DAs not opening later when MF was off; and
corrupted files did not show a DRVR resource type when opened with ResEdit.

- Fixed a bug causing a problem with the new versions of Apple's DAs (Alarm
Clock, Chooser, Control Panel, etc.) in System Tools 6.0 The Suitcase bug
causes a crash when these DAs were opened with Suitcase and then later opened
without Suitcase installed. There is no problem if the DAs are awlways opened
while Suitcase is installed.

- Fixed incompatibility with DataDesk's 101-Keys DA which caused 101-Keys to say
that it had not been properly installed.

- Fixed a problem that could sometimes cause one or two DA names in the Apple
menu to be dimmed after a DA suitcase file was opened or closed.

The major upgrade to Suitcase is supposed to be in August, 1988 with version
2.0.

I hope this helps some of you.
