I have been thinking about ordering some software and hardware from one of the Macintosh mail order companies to try and escape the inflated prices that we have in the Toronto area. I was wondering if anyone in Canada is willing to pass on their experience in dealing with these mail order places ie: - which ones would you recommend - how long did it take to get to you and how much was the shipping - was there any problems at the border (ie. did duty have to be paid?) Just as an example the "InBox Starter Kit" costs $409.95 at Arkon Electronics in Toronto. MacConnection quotes $199.00 in the latest MacWorld. Even with $10 shipping and 25% exchange this is still $261.25. Quite a savings unless there are some hidden costs that I don't know about. I am hoping to hear from someone who has done this already before I jump in and try myself. Any info would be appreciated, -- Ron Janzen Ontario Science Centre, Toronto ...!{watmath!utai,uunet!utai,utcsri}!utgpu!oscvax!ron
