Hi! i am somewhat new to the macintosh world. Are there any programs, public domain or otherwise, which allow you to select specific FOLDERS on a hard disk for backup. The hard disk backup utility supplied with our MAC II seems to allow backups on floppies for the entire 40 Mbyte hard disk or for specific FILES but nothing in between. Thanks very much for your advice!

Greetings and welcome to Macintosh. Right now there are two commercial applications that you should consider. SuperMac Software's DiskFit and Microseeds Publishing's Redux. These are currently the best backup applications available for the Mac and each give you the ability to exclude folders (DiskFit) or select specific files and/or folder to be backed up (Redux). Of course, I would hope that you would select DiskFit... Fabian Ramirez SuperMac Technology fabian@cup.portal.com sun!cup.portal.com!fabian
