[comp.sys.mac] book club that has Mac books

engber@speedy.cs.wisc.edu (Mike Engber) (08/18/88)

There is a book club that you can get some of the Macintosh books through.
They have:
 -MacRevealed vol 1 & 2 2/e
 -Dan Weston's Assembly Language Books vol 1 & 2
 -Joel West's MPW book
 -Macintosh Programming Secrets
-several other Mac books that I can't recall now
-lot of general CS books including:
   Kernighan & Ritchie's C book
   Harbison & Steele's C-ref manual
   Steel's Common Lisp 'bible'
   Hanbook of AI vols 1,2,&3
   AT&T's UNIX reference manual series

It works like those record clubs (you'll get monthly postcards you have to
return in order not to be sent the selection of the month) The introductory
offer is up to 3 books for $1 each + shipping. Your obligation is 3 more
books over the period of a year. Their prices are good, usually 10-30% of
list. The prices range from $10 on up (yes, there is a $10 book, so in
theory you could spend as little as $30 + shipping) You don't have to send
them any money till you get your books. They guarantee return postage so if;
you change you mind about joining, you don't like a book, or you forget to
send in your postcard and get the selection of the month , you can mark it
RETURN TO SENDER and stick it in the mail at no cost to yourself.

If you're interested send me email and I'll send you more details.
