[comp.sys.mac] SCSI High density floppys

peter@wacsvax.OZ (Peter Dodd) (08/16/88)

Hello,

We are looking at purchasing a SCSI high density floppy (10 -> 20Mb) for
backup purposes. The two drives under consideration are the JASMINE MEGADRIVE and the BERING TOTEM 2 ( are there any others ?).

The primary purchasing criterion is reliability. If anyone has any gripes or praises for either of these machines, would you e-mail me of your opinions.

I will sumarise responses and post them.

Thanks in advance,

Peter.

Peter,

You message seemed to be cut-off. Some drives that you might consider:

DTC/Kodak cartridges - Jasmine MegaDrive use 10 Mb and now 20 Mb "megafloppies"

Bernoulli cartridges - SuperMac's XP60+B (combination 60 Mb HD & 20 Mb
                       Bernoulli Box II cartridge)

                     - Bering's Totem drives

                     - Iomega's "new" Bernoulli Box II drives.

Syquest removeable Winchester drives - 40/43/44/45 Mb cartridges that are sold
Mass Micro, Peripheral Land, DPI, and Custom Memory Systems.
