As a registered owner of Suitcase , I received the update (1.3->2.0) notice from Fifth Generation Systems, the people who now publish the program. In the letter that I received from them, they said that 2.0 would be available at the Boston Expo. Well, I sent in the update form with my credit card number, and the Boston dates came and went without a new Suitcase. Yesterday I got my credit card bill in the mail, and guess what was on it -- you got it, the Suitcase upgrade price. I called the company a couple of minutes ago, and was told that version 2.0 would ship on Sept. 15. That date is 1 month after they charged my credit card for the program. I think that this is a pretty sleazy practice, and I would encourage anyone else who is thinking of upgrading to wait until the new version is out before sending any money. I guess that this is the price we pay as the Mac grows up -- the little developers who are try to put the customer first are swallowed up by bigger companies, whose business practices are not as customer oriented as they possibly should be. I, too, abhor sleazy buiness practices, but I really don't think that is what is going on here. I suspect that either a bug was discovered at the last minute, or they received word on the feature list of master juggler and decided to add some features before release. Of course this is only a guess on my part, but why not give Fifth Generation the benefit of the doubt? Its not as if they were a mail order company (in which case there would be no excuse for this sort of shananigans.)
