Someone in my lab has a text file he created in MindWrite containing some very important info. I don't know the details of what happened just prior to the problem's appearance, but suffice to say that opening this file now causes MindWrite to bomb! The file seems to load, even gets to the point where text is displayed on the screen, as though it's about to work, and then WHAMMMO! it dies with error 02. Attempt at RESTART yields error 10 and then we're stuck. This happens if you double-click the text file, or if you launch MindWrite and then open the file. We've tried his backup version of MindWrite and a copy of the file on a different disk--no luck. I tried to salvage the text and leave him only the pain of re-entering the format info by opening the file in MacWrite 4.5 and Word 3.0. It appears that clever little MindWrite performs some weird encoding on its text data so the file appears as garbaggio in the other word processors (and to the FileScan dump program). We're at the end of ideas here. Anybody out there seen this before? Can it be saved? Is there anything that converts from MindWrite to Word or MacWrite or anything else!?!?!? Of couse, the MindWrite disks are poised to enter the "hazardous waste" container as soon as this ordeal is over! Whatamess! Thanks in advance for any help.
