I just read in the 8-23-88 MacWeek about MacJet driver by Laser Connection, a subsidiary of QMS of Mobile Ala. "This driver acts as a quick draw driver, allowing users to print from any Macintosh with at least 512Kbytes of RAM to Hewlett Packard's LaserJetm LaserJet++, LaserJet Series II, LaserJet 500 and other HP-PCL-compatible printers. The driver costs $249 and includes the software, cables, a user's guide and a variety of HP downloadable fonts, including TMS Roman and Helvetica." Since I've seen LaserJets for less than $1900, this looks pretty attractive. You get to use a good, popular printer for which supplies and service are always readily accessible. I use Word and MacDraw (to make foils) and feel that Quickdraw for me is probably good enough. I'd like to ask if anyone has had any experience with any of the low cost lasers (listing the price, since I'm not up on the latest products and price). This list would include Apples' entry level laser, the General Computer laser and others. Image quality, text sizing and placement, compatibility with screen are important. Speed and networking are not all that critical to me since the laser would be dedicated. I thank you in advance. -rei
