I am fairly new to the net, and have been seeing headers from systems
that have names like someplace!MIT-MULTICS@someware. Are these real
MULTICS systems? If so I wonder if some of you would be willing to
send me information on MULTICS, like how do you like it, and how does
it compair to U*IX. At one time someone told me that there was a book
that described MULTICS in some detail. Can someone tell me what the name
of that book is, and who printed it?

The Multics systems you mentioned are on the ARPANET. The book you're looking for is: "The Multics System: An Examination of Its Structure", by Elliott I. Organick, the MIT Press, 1972. A later edition is still in print, I believe. Brian Marick, Gould Software Division ...ihnp4!uiucdcs!ccvaxa!marick ARPA: Marick@COMPION-VMS (217) 384-8521
