Two unrelated questions: 1) Do utilities exist to change a snd resource to the older 'sound' format? Specifically, I would like to able to use snd resources with the Sound Master cdev. I remember reading somewhere long ago that it may be as simple as changing the header and resource name, but I'd like to be sure. 2) Is there a document outlining the format of GIF files? I've been out of the mac scene for awhile, so I don't know if such a thing has circulated before. Please MAIL all replies back to me, since I'm afraid I don't have the time to read all of comp.sys.mac. Thanks! Marc Pawliger mp1w@andrew.cmu.edu mp1w%andrew.cmu.edu@cmuccvb.bitnet

Thanks to all for the fast replies to my questions about sound files and GIF files. Now, the answers: 1) The application 'Sound Leech' (available from SUMEX-AIM's INFO-MAC directory), can convert from snd resources to SoundCap format files. Numerous utilities to convert the other way exist, too. 2) The format of a GIF file was posted to comp.graphics.misc. I now have a copy of it, if anyone would like it.\ Thanks again, Marc Pawliger Internet: mp1w@andrew.cmu.edu Usenet: mp1w%andrew@cmuccvb.bitnet
