Macintosh System Software 6.0.2 arrived today via SnailMail, postmarked in Santa Clara on my birthday. I guess Apple Release Engineering only springs for FedEx once per major release :-). The interesting part of the cover letter says: This release is essentially the same as the previously mailed System Software 6.0.1 with one exception. A change was made to the System File to correct a problem that caused the width of LaserWriter Plus BOLD fonts to differ from their PLAIN equivalents. I wonder about that "essentially." The only difference I've found is that the installer now mentions Mac II / Mac IIx as a choice instead of just Mac II. The LaserWriter BNDL problem has *not* been fixed, even though folks both inside and outside of Apple tell me they reported this bug long before the release.
