I have several questions about the use of Apple's Fax Modem. !. I purchased it in the states before coming back to Saipan and I understand there has since been an 'improvement' in the software that allows it to truely work in the background. Now, as things stand, I have to have a phone hooked up to the applefax line to know when the line is ringing so I can QUIT what I am doing to tell the fax to answer the phone. Plus, the only printer I have is a laserprinter on an appletalk network woth a bunch of graphic artists. Each fax PAGE takes M-I-N-U-T-T-E-S to print. Any suggestions, hints, etc?

If you want this feature immediately, I would recommend that you inquire about BackFax from Solutions, inc. >Plus, the only printer I have is a laserprinter on an appletalk >network woth a bunch of graphic artists. Each fax PAGE takes M-I-N-U-T-T-E-S >to print. > The reason that it takes SOOOOOOO long to print is that your FAX documents are stored as 216dpi BITMAPS - and therefore will take a while to print. One solution is to turn off smoothing of bitmaps in your page setup. /* ============================================================ */ /* Leonard Rosenthol | GEnie: MACgician */ /* President, Lazerware inc. | Delphi: MACgician */ /* | MacNet: MACgician */ /* denn@violet.berkeley.edu | AppleLink: D0025 */
