Does anyone know what would cause this situation: A Mac II in a public computer lab seems to work fine. You hit the keyboard button to turn it on and it comes on, begins to boot from the hard disk (or a floppy). It displays the standard startup screen, and procedes to display the standard finder desktop. However, the keyboard and mouse do not function. They are completely dead. Before you decided that it is a hardware problem, let me continue... About two hours later, the same person was using the Mac II right next to the one that was frozen. It, too, froze up in the same manner mentioned above. We have tried different keyboards, different disks (even some from across campus to be sure that no virus was involved), etc., but it didn't matter. We have two of the world's most expensive paperweights now (probably the most attractive paperweights around -- and most expensive). Does anyone have any ideas? We thought maybe it was in the PRAM, but there is no way that we know of to zap the parameter RAM without the use of a keyboard. Would someone happen to have a program that would do this? We could set it up on another machine to startup and automatically run this program. At this point, anything is worth a try.
