So far there has been only one answer to my classical quiz. Either my article didn't reach a good part of the net; or no one is interested in a free pressing of that just-released DG digital LP of the Brahms Double Concerto, von Karajan conducting; or perhaps those people who are always proclaiming on net.music the extreme breadth of their musical tastes are the type who scan the FM dial, stop for lack of anything more bearable on a classical station, and then mutter absent-mindedly, "Gee, that's nice..." So, which one is it folks? If you're interested in the above prize and have not seen the quiz, drop me a note at decvax!allegra!cbf. There are still two weeks to go before the deadline. N.B. I perhaps didn't make it clear the first time that answers are supposed to come from memory or at most your record collection. This is not meant to be a research assignment. Please don't look up the answers. Also the works in question are restricted to whole concertos, serenades, symphonies, masses, sonatas and assorted chamber works (i.e. instrumental trios, quartets, quintets, etc.) Suites, overtures, ballets, oratorios, etc. are not under consideration. Good luck, --Charles (decvax!allegra!cbf)
