[comp.sys.mac] Broadcast Version.

jfm@ruddles.sprl.umich.edu.engin.umich.edu (John F. Mansfield) (11/02/88)

I am trying to use Broadcast, the Chooser based message program, on a MacII
with system 6.0.2. Everytime I try to change the send icon I get a bomb with
id=12. I am using version 0.5b3! I do not have an address for the author
electronic or otherwise. I would like to find out if he is on the net or
if anyone knows of a later version. I suspect this program is shareware
but I have no address for the guy, the send box says he is
Joachim Lindenberg of the University of Karslruhe FRG, but exactly where
or how much shareware fee I should send I dont know. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Yes, the ID=12 is due to a Debugger break he (inadvertently) left in the
program. I removed the break from my copy and it worked perfectly.

To patch your copy, search for hex A9FF and change it to 4E71. (It only
occurs once.)

This might have some side effects, but I can't find any.
