[comp.sys.mac] HD Protection

I'm looking for a program that asks for a password before allowing you
to boot from a hard disk. I have one PD program but, this program allows
the type to be seen when you type in the password. This can be awkward
when someone is watching over your shoulder. Anyway, I'm looking for
a version or another program that masks the typed in letters. Any ideas?
Thanks,
[I realize that someone could easily gain access by booting from a floppy
but this is not the type of person I am worried about.]

Can anyone direct me towards software that prevents copying files from
a hard disk - I will have a lab with 25 macs with hd20's and need to
stop piracy...
thanks ...

To all who responded, many thanks.
The easiest solution is: use MacTools from Copy II Mac to set the
protection bit on the file -
Thanks again

Alright, I've have yet to find out exactly what the protection bit
does for a file. Anybody out there know what it does and how this
relates to the locked bit?
