[comp.sys.mac] CMS drives vs. System 6.0.2 resolved!

blm@cxsea.UUCP (Brian Matthews) (11/03/88)

Despite the reports of others, I was still not able to use System 6.0.2
with my CMS drive. So, I called CMS, talked to a tech guy, and he
suggested I get the newest CMS utility program. I was using 3.2k, and
4.0 is the latest. I obtained 4.0, reinstalled drivers, installed 6.0.2,
and it works fine!

So, CMS drives work fine with System 6.0.2, if you've got fairly recent
drivers. The drivers with CMS' 4.0 utilities work, and 3.2k don't. I
suspect some versions in between work also, but haven't actually tried
them. You should be able to get 4.0 from your CMS dealer. If not, call
CMS (I don't have their number handy, but I got it out of their add in
MacWorld).
