Does anyone know the source of a program called laserID? This program is a DA to allow users to put their name and ID into the Chooser without using the Chooser. Why do I want to do this? At the university, users input their name via the Chooser to identify their printout on the appletalk laserprinter. Using laserID, would bypass the Chooser, and thus prevent problems with users trying to be cute by changing the printer driver. Is this program PD, and has anyone encountered problems using it? Thanks again, John Hovan Computer Doctor Apple Student Representative Bowling Green State University hovan@andy.bgsu.edu N8JAA Long live the Macintosh and Cirrus Hard Drives!! John ,
We have an INIT and an associated program here (PURDUE) that resets the
chooser name to what we have selected on bootup. Also, our chooser has
been modified so that students cannot change the name.
If you want any of these (Src included), let me know.
