Well - it arrived next day 2 weeks from request date and 5 days in the mail (the last couple of updates took only 2 days from asking so I guess these guys are getting busy now). The update came with a thin booklet detailing common problems and fixes and do's and dont's of macworks+. On the disk was the update prog and a new cDev that allows the screensaver to be customised and contrast to be adjusted. The main problem I was having (400k disks formatted on Lisa not readable on a different (normal) mac (+, SE or II)) has NOT been fixed but it HAS been documented in the booklet which doesn't hold out much hope of it being fixed but suggests the workaround of formatting your 400k disks on the target machine in advance. Support at SUN remaketing still say that 1.1 should address the problem which is one of software formatting callibration. AFT now runs on the Lisa (the Flight simulator trainer (you know the prog that trains you to fly a flight simulator)) Falcon dies horribly all the way back to LISA hardware diagnostic restart. (AFT crashes the LISA on quit though!!). I've had some new problems with the mouse tracking across boot-up. A couple of times on reboot, the LISA has lost its idea of mouse tracking setting - though it still indicates a fast setting, it behaves like "tablet" and no amount of resetting or rebooting will fix it. Have to power down to reset "pram" i.e. pull the plug and then reboot to fix. I guess we'll wait for 1.1 and see what they manage. --alen the Lisa slayer (it's a long story) ....ucsd!ncr-sd!asdev2!alen
