[comp.sys.mac] NuBus Info Request

jaksa@cpswh.cps.msu.edu (Rob Jaksa {manager}) (11/26/88)

I am interested in finding out more about the NuBus. Where
should I look?

Thanks in advance,
Rob Jaksa

There is a book by Apple, published by Addison Wesley, entitled "How to
design cards and devices for the Macintosh II", or something like this. I
am not sure about the exact name. It is one of the new hard bound, technical
books from Apple. It should have all the information you need.

There are two excellent reference points for NuBus information. The first
is a book from Addison/Wesley titled "Designing Cards and Drivers for
Macintosh II and Macintosh SE." The second is through the IEEE. Ask for
the IEEE Standard 1196 (The IEEE NuBus standard), which they'll send to
you for around $35. Neither of these includes information about the NeXT
machine's NuBus, though. For that, you'll have to write to NeXT, as they
should have a technical document out about now on their machine.

NuBus is known as IEEE 1196. The standard can be obtained thru
the IEEE office at 345 East 47th Street, New York, NY 10017.
