A few weeks ago I had a request for help posted on the board - the symptoms I was seeing involved system disks that had been created from working disks that appeared to the machine as two physical disks or that hid the files on the disk. From: dmm@genrad.com (Dottie MacKeen) Path: dmm I have not been able to reproduce the problem but I have seen similar variants and I have heard from several people all with the suggestion that the problem is caused by incompatible operating system versions. The biggest problem appears to be caused when files created under the HFS and the previous file structure are mixed. This was not something we were consciously doing but because we have several kinds of machine we have several working versions of the operating system and old disks do get unwittingly circulated. I am posting this follow-up because several people indicated they were seeing similar problems. The solution appears to be consistency in insuring that each user only work with one version of the operating system. Thanks to everyone who responded for the help. Dottie MacKeen
