[comp.sys.mac] Cutting Edge Keyboard

paulm@nikhefk.UUCP (Paul Molenaar) (12/01/88)

Just some information for who(m)ever it may concern.

A couple of weeks ago I asked some information about the Datadesk
keyboard. Some replies although generally favorable, combined with
another ergonomical aspect
of this keyboard (the small return-key - I don't like it) put me off.

Instead I bought the Cutting Edge Keyboard. Cheaper, more in line
with the regular Extended Keyboard, I figured when looking at the
photographs.

[BTW: Called MacWarehouse
on thursday, the delivery-boy showed up in my office on monday. In
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Europe that is ;) | no customs (ha!)
but ~30 dollars delivery charge billed to my creditcard]

Anyway: I'm utterly satisfied with this keyboard. Good feel, full
compatibility. Just a minor irregularity I found out: If I connect the
keyboard to the Mac and have my mouse in the Mac's back-end (pardonnez
mon language) as well, the keyboard's behaviour is weird. Most of the
time it's not recognized as an Extended Keyboard and the keyboard input
is really slow. The solution: connect the mouse to the keyboard. The only
other irregularity now is the highlighting of the 'scroll-lock' (never
figured out what it meant BTW) when the 'numlock' key is depressed.

All standard disclaimer apply. I do not own any stock whatsoever (except
for my dog) and therefore do not have a vested interest in any of the
two companies mentioned above.
