Help! We have a Mac II running System 6.0. There's also a 140meg Rodime disk, and a big monochrome (1 bit/pixel) screen (The Big Picture). Yesterday we installed Lightspeed Pascal, and tried to run it. The machine froze - the cursor (a stopwatch by then) stopped tracking the mouse. Nothing could change the state of the machine, and the power switch in back was useless - I had to unplug the machine. First thing I did was delete that copy of Pascal. I restored the system folder from backups a while ago, and then checked everything with Interferon - we're clean. But some programs seize, some don't. Working programs include FastBack, TeachText, and Finder. Bombs include MacWrite and Adobe Illustrator '88. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Is it hardware or software? ANY ideas would be appreciated. Incidentally, I installed MacsBug to look at things, but the fonts come out teeny-tiny. Is there a way to get a bigger font out of the debugger? the debugger? -Andrew Glassner glassner@xerox.com
