[comp.sys.mac] Why does About the Finder... jiggle?

Whenever I look at the About the Finder box while running MultiFinder, the
memory allocated to the System "jiggles". It (for example) fluctuates between
641K and 648K about once per second. Why does this happen? I've got 4 megs and
a lot of it is free, so I can't see stuff being swapped in and out as the
answer.
