In fact, I have two sets of 4. UCLA student store price is currently $399 so $275 seems reasonable. I'm afraid mine aren't under warranty any more but they've worked flawlessly until now. So to upgrade your 1Mb system which uses 4 256K SIMMs to 2Mb, you have to remove two of the 256K SIMMS and replace them with two 1Mb SIMMs (giving you a total of 2.5Mb). As for the 120ns chip speed, that speed is fine in an SE (if I am not mistaken, the Plus and SE only need 150ns but the increased speed of the MacII requires the 120ns chips). The only place I've found quarter-meg SIMMS to be useful is in upgrading a 1-Meg Mac II to a 2-Meg Mac II. The Mac II has 8 slots for memory, and a 1-Meg Mac II comes with quarter-meg SIMMS in 4 of those slots. You can put quarter-meg SIMMS in the other 4 slots for a total of 2 Megs of memory. Oh, yeah. I have the 4 original quarter-meg SIMMS that came in my SE (compatible with either SE or Mac II), in case anyone's interested :-)
