Do macintoshes need any kind of maintenance? I have a mac + (about 2 years old) -Larry Watanabe

Cleaning the disk drive every once in a while with a cleaner disk is recommended by some, and also dust should be removed from the mouse every once in a while (you're probably already doing that). If you have an old-style mouse which has difficulty moving in one particular direction, the spring inside might be rusty - it can be removed with no problem, since its only purpose is to add a little extra friction. By the way, I'll be in Japan until Jan. 22. If you want to know about the latest Mac PD software in Japan, feel free to send me e-mail while I'm there.... ----- John Melby melby@s.cs.uiuc.edu sjk037%dctwcs.das.net@sun.com (address in Japan 12/22-1/22) -----
