[comp.sys.mac] AppleShare backups

billkatt@sol.engin.umich.edu (Steve Bollinger) (12/13/88)

Here at CAEN we have a 660 Megabyte Appleshare server, and will be
my responsiblity to back it up. We have an extensive network of UNIX
machines. Does anyone out there know of a way to use these UNIX machines
to back up our server? (Some kind of program that will NFS mount an
Appleshare server would be nice)
We have Network DiskFit and an Apple 40 Meg tape drive, but I don't
want to push 17 cartridges into it (besides, it is soo slow). So I
would also like suggestions for good tape backup devices.
Please respond via email, and I will summarize later.
