We have a set of student laboratory MacII's, that have a floppy disk, hard disk, and some network access. For security reasons we would like to make sure that all boots are from the hard disk, without completely disabling the floppy disk. Does anyone know a trick for forcing the boot from the hard disk? -- Ken Mandelberg | km@mathcs.emory.edu PREFERRED Emory University | {decvax, gatech}!emory!km UUCP Dept of Math and CS | km@emory.bitnet NON-DOMAIN BITNET Atlanta, GA 30322 | Phone: (404) 727-7963

If each computer has it's oun hard disk, boot will be from there automaticly. HOWEVER you may want to boot all computers from a single (Network - accessed) hard disk, so you can have system administration, such as a passwords file, etc. Well, this cannot be directly done, ofcourse BUT I am now working on a soloution which invaulves a very tricky HyperCard stack, so hanng on and I will let you know.
