Now that I have progressed to rather faster hardware, I would like to reformat my hard disk with a smaller interleave factor, 2 down to 1. That said, I would like to be able to experiment (using something like SCSI evaluator - which works nicely with non-SCSI disks too BTW) with the interleave to achieve maximum performance. What I suppose that I am looking for is the magic patch to Apple's HD SC Setup to change the number. Any ideas ?

No magic patch. Just type command-I (for interleave) when you are at the main dialog box. It will prompt you for an interleave. +----------------------+----------------------------------------------------+ | Steve Bollinger | Internet: billkatt@caen.engin.umich.edu | | 4297 Sulgrave Dr. +------+---------------------------------------------+ | Swartz Creek, Mi. 48473 | "My employer doesn't take my opinion any | +-----------------------------+ more seriously than you do." | | "You remember the IIe, it +---------------------------------------------+ | was the machine Apple made before they decided people didn't need | | machines with big screens, color, or slots." | | - Harry Anderson (from NBC's Night Court) | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
