[comp.sys.mac] Changing the interleave on hard disks

jg@ukc.ac.uk (J.Grant) (12/15/88)

Now that I have progressed to rather faster hardware, I would like to
reformat my hard disk with a smaller interleave factor, 2 down to 1.

That said, I would like to be able to experiment (using something
like SCSI evaluator - which works nicely with non-SCSI disks too BTW)
with the interleave to achieve maximum performance.

What I suppose that I am looking for is the magic patch to
Apple's HD SC Setup to change the number.

Any ideas ?

No magic patch. Just type command-I (for interleave) when you are at the
main dialog box. It will prompt you for an interleave.
