[comp.sys.mac] Sad Mac

zcnj01@gpb6.uucp (Cecil N. Jones) (12/21/88)

I have a Mac512 that gives me the Sad Mac icon as soon as it
is powered on. Underneath the Sad Mac is 0F000D. Is my only
option to take it to an authorized Macintosh service center?

I am considering upgrading to 1M and SCSI port. I think that
this upgrade involves installing a completely new mother board.
If this is the case, and I do the upgrade and replace the
mother board, will I not have to worry about the Sad Mac problem
since I would then have a new mother board?

       Any help would be appreciated.

       Thanks - Happy Holidays

Your interrupt button, under the rearmost half of the programmer's
switch is stuck on. Remove or free up the switch, which is on the
rear left side; if that does not help, the case will have to be opened
so the switch inside can be repaired or replaced.

That error code of 0F000D usually indicates that your programmer's
switch is jammed or improperly installed. But, you have a Mac 512!
It doesn't have one as far as I know. Hmmmm

No, if you have access to some person on campus who works in Tech Support, or something similar drop it by. Apple dealers tend to really RIP people off, next try M.A.C. or Mac orchard. 644-0516 [MAC] and MAC Orchard I am not shure about. They have a new store at 2210 [close I think] Shattuck.
Close to Whellys sporting goods. If I remember correctly the error has something to do with a bad system. or at least "ooooooof: was.
Also try Calling Tolman Computer Center in Tolman hall I beleive the number is 2-2215. But just in case call the 6000# and ask for Aron Roberts. [He has the best MacKnowledge I have found on Campus]

Well Hope this helps.
