[comp.sys.mac] Disk drive problem

rang@cpsin3.cps.msu.edu (Anton Rang) (01/05/89)

My external disk drive (from Central Point Software) has started
acting funny. It doesn't read disks correctly all the time, even
though they read fine in the internal drive. The strange thing is
that it always seems to have the same problem: some of the "AA" disk
bytes are dropped. For instance, "D5 AA AD" ==> "D5 AD" once in a
while.
Any thoughts? Could it be the drive alignment, maybe? It seems to
work better with disks that were originally formatted in it, as
opposed to in my internal....
