When I first got Nettrek on my II it worked fine. Then it stopped working. I try booting off a clean system and then an old system that I may have been running then. Still didn't work. I have no idea what could do this. On a nother note, I saw Nettrek 2.0 in MacGarden in San Rafael, they said they didn'tknow how they got it and they thought it was Shareware but wouldn't let me copy it. I opened it and from a minutes trial it had these new features: A menu under the Starbase software icon. The choice of self destructing your bases. A computer ship! I don't know if it runs on a II or over modem as I read somewhere. If anyone knows more please speak up!

About Nettrek 2.0: i have seen it, and have the following info: a)It does NOT run on a Mac II. At least not mine, it uncerimoniously exits to finder, or brings up a bus error (id=2). b)It cannot run over a modem connection-if Appletalk is not installed and (oops, sorry, LOCALtalk :-)) selected from the chooser, when the program is run, a dialog pops up saying, Spock: There is no Appletalk installed. Please check- ...or something like that. The computer ship is nice to have, though..and the little (@#*(*@# can kick my a** at least 50% of the time! If you DO have an Appletalk net and two or three people to play with, it can be REALLY addicting. Fun too, of course! -JBZimmerman! -- ___________ | "If there's anything around here more important || | than my ego, I want it caught and shot now."-ZB || ||acob Zimmerman!+> <zimerman@phoenix.Princeton.EDU> INTERNET === | <zimerman@PUCC> BITnet
