[comp.sys.mac] 24-bit Color Boards

pcraig@maths.tcd.ie (Peter Craig) (01/06/89)

Does anyone out there have any experience with 24-bit color boards
for the Mac II ? In particular I am interested in the RasterOps 104
board for Trinitron monitors. We are contemplating purchasing such
a board, largely for image-processing work. We need opinions on, and a
description of, the ColorDraw 24 extensions to Quickdraw. Does this use
a planar model for RGB or does it use a 24-bit 'chunky' model ? How
slow is it compared to ordinary color quickdraw ? Do the arithmetic
modes work properly ? Does CopyBits work OK, or does it still fail when
the color table gets strange ? Anything anyone can tell me would be
gratefully received, even it's only experience with using standard
color applications on this beastie.

			Thanks in advance,
