[comp.sys.mac] The Velotype keyboard

jurjen@cwi.nl (Jurjen N.E. Bos) (01/09/89)

Somebody asked me for details of the keyboard. Of course, our mailer
refused to send the reply. So here it is, for all of you.

Well, to be honest, I don't know very much about the thing.
What I know is:
- it is a keyboard that uses three divisions, vowels in the middle and
consonants both to the left and right
- it uses language characteristics. This means that for typing "thing" you
type "T" and "N" on the left half, "I" in the middle and "N" and "G"
on the right half. The keyboard then produces "thing" because this
is the only word you could mean.
- it is a dutch product
- it is for a trained typist about 3 times as fast as a regular keyboard
- there was an ad for it in the "Computer Product News" of about 3 months ago

Hope to have helped you,
