After receiving SUM 1.02 today, I tried to create a disk partition using HD Partition; I set the new partition to auto-mount. It crashed at boot time with "System error 25 at 4081E434 ... No procedure name ... ;A9FF" By using the AAsk cdev (which I love), I determined the offending INIT was "MenuClock101", which has worked flawlessly till now with everything else. Anyone know what's wrong? Is there any other decent menuclocks available that will work with SUM's partitioning software? (I ask this because I'm not at all certain the problem is SUM's fault!) After calling symetec on another matter, I asked about the upgrade to version 1.1 advertised in February's MacUser. The sales people knew nothing about it, and the tech support person I spoke with also had no information, but he did say that the offer was "premature". Comments? (In particular, will version 1.1 fix this compatibility problem and when will it be available?) It must've been lost! 1/2 :-)

I am the author of the true Menu Clock, originally written in '85 and still going strong. The current version is 3.1. Some guy on compuserve wrote an imitation, which admitedly does have a better control panel (it is also a CDEV.) When I complained about his use of my product name, he changed the file name to SuperClock. If there are bugs in Menu Clock v.3.1, I'd like to know about it. --- David Phillip Oster --"When we replace the mouse with a pen, Arpa: oster@dewey.soe.berkeley.edu --3 button mouse fans will need saxophone Uucp: {uwvax,decvax}!ucbvax!oster%dewey.soe.berkeley.edu --lessons." - Gasee
