This usually means that the Alarm Clock has gone off - call up the Alarm Clock DA. If there is only one time displayed, click on the little flag on the right of the window. This will cause a second display (which could be a date or time) and three little icons to appear. Click on the icon on the right, and a time will appear in the middle display, along with a little toggle switch. If the switch is toggled up, click it and it will toggle down, the alarm clock will be turned off, and the Apple will stop blinking. Alternatively, the notificiation manager could want your attention - check to see if anything in the apple menu has a check mark by it, and if so call that item up. No. A flashing apple probably just means your "alarm" is going off. Just shut it off with the "Alarm Clock" DA.
