Is this happening to anyone else? Running under MultiFinder, I open one app, and then open a second, which says it doesn't have enough memory to open, but do I want to open anyway (i.e., the app can open, but maybe it doesn't have as much memory as it wants). I open it leaving 0k free RAM. Then I close one of the apps, freeing up several hundred k. My problem is that at this point, with lotsa memory free, the DA Handler doesn't seem to know that there's any memory free, and hence I can't open any DA's until I shut all open apps. This has happened to me lots of times with lots of programs. Is this a bug in the DA Handler? Robert ------- ra_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu ------- generic disclaimer: all my opinions are mine

In article <Ida Know) ra_robert@gsbacd.uchicago.edu complained about
memory probems using the DA handler w/multifinder.
In the 'Read Me' document on the sytemn disk v6.0.2 is a note that
says to open your DAs BEFORE you open your applications. Perhaps
giving that a try will solve your problem.
