Well, the title just about says it all. Here's the message from CI$: #: 126853 S2/Community Square 14-Jan-89 07:04:23 Sb: #MACazine closes doors... Fm: LeVitus--MACazine/STAX! 76004,2076 To: ALL Everyone: I'm sad to say, MACazine has ceased operations. Yesterday, Friday the 13th, publisher Bill Hart called a meeting to inform the staff that he was shutting down operations, effective immediately. Mounting financial losses make it impossible to continue publication; the March issue will be our last. We've done everything we could to keep MACazine alive--over the past few months, Bill, Mike Hayes and I have tried, unsuccessfully, to find a buyer who would keep the magazine alive. Bill's decision not to wait any longer is understandable. Subscribers and advertisers will receive a letter with all the details in a couple of weeks. I want to thank all of you for your support while MACazine was alive--for subscribing, advertising, and providing great feedback. We wouldn't have lasted as long as we did without you. Bob LeVitus Former Editor-in-Chief MACazine My own personal comments: I liked the Macazine. It was really the only Mac magazine left that catered to the _individual_ (as opposed to the corporate) user. They also told it like it was, without fear of losing advertisers. This kind of Mac magazine is needed and will be sorely missed. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// / Robert Hammen | hammen@csd4.milw.wisc.edu | uwmcsd1!uwmcsd4!hammen / / Delphi: HAMMEN | GEnie: R.Hammen | CI$: 70701,2104 | MacNet: HAMMEN / / Bulfin Printers | 1887 N. Did anyone else catch the date that Bob LeVitus gave for the date that the mag was to be terminated? Friday the Thirteenth! My guess is that this is a joke (although one that I didn't like real well :-). The magazine has just gotten yet another new editor, and seemed like it was going real well.
