Your prof of control doesnt have a clue. I asked macsyma to solve


                            dx
(d2)                        -- = (n - x) (b x + a)
                            dt

and it came up with the solution


                      log(b x + a) - log(x - n)
(d3)                  ------------------------- = t + %c
                               b n + a

where %c is a constant.

I dunno whether Mathematica can do this, I'm still waiting to get it.
