I've been beta testing MultiClip for a while now. Now that it's shipping and being shown at the Expo I can probally say something about it. It is a self installing DA which allow you to have a multi-level stack like clipboard. It is very much like the multi-scrapbook utilities that are available only it is tied in with the clipboard more closely. You can set it to function as the clipboard meaning whenever you copy something it goes to the MultiClip file instead and when you paste it comes from the Multiclip file. The way I use it is when ever I want to copy something I use a seperate key sequence (cmd-opt-C) to copy it directly to the Multiclip file. You can also do a cut or paste the same way. It will also let you cut/copy to the scrapbook directly too. When you paste from MultiClip you can have the clip stay there or be removed from the list. You can also copy/cut something and then have MultiClip open up immediately after. The MultiClip window is configurable to a 1-6 by 1-6 array of "frames". You can configure the frame for font size for text and reduction size (25%,50%, 100%,fit to frame, don't show) for graphics. You can rearrange frames by dragging them to where you want them, or copy or replace ones with others. It has a frame editor which will allow you to delete or enter text in text frames, copy pieces of pictures to make new frames with graphics. It has a wonderful import/export selection of features. You can import/export scrapbook files. You can read in or save out text, pict, paint files. You can append to current scrapbook or other scrapbook as well as to other MultiClip files. The later means you can have multiple Multiclip files. All the keyboard shortcuts are configurable (the ones accessible from outside MultiClip). One of those allows you to turn off MultiClip in case it interferes with your applications hot keys. There is also a way to paste a particular frame by number. Some of the suggestions I have already given to them for the next version are: - the ability to cut/copy/paste to/from a particular MultiClip file selected by the Standard File Dialog. - The ability to name clip frames and be able to search for them or paste them by name. - use a specific MultiClip file depending on which application your in. MultiClip works wonderful for a library. With MultiClip open you need only do a command-double-click on the thing you want and it copies it, closes and pastes it into the current application you're in! - other miscellaneous small features. If you have any ideas or requests, send them to me and I'll pass them on. They seem to be very responsive to ideas.
