The release Aask comes with the 4.4 version of the MockPackage. It is much nicer than the beta thats been around. You can get to it from the control panel and make changes there. Also new in the 4.4 release is a new version of EZ-menu that lets you run any menu (not window menus) inside any program using the keyboard. Here's how it works: Hit the defined hot key and the last menu used pops down, tab to rotate thru the available menus or use arrow keys to go right or left. Then you can type characters to select a unique menu item, and then you hit return or enter to select that item. This is also now a control panel item and from there you select what hot key you want, turn EZ-menu on & off, turn startup icon on/off. Some suggestions I'm going to pass on to CE are: -the delay between typing to uniqueness and reseting to a new menu item is way too long and not changeable. -you can't abort the menu selection unless you click away from the menu. You can hit return or enter while in the top though. -EZ-menu started out with only the capability of automatically popping a menu down when the mouse entered the menu bar. Well, I don't like that feature but I do love being able to use the menus with the keyboard. So they should add an options to the control panel to turn either on or off. -- Tony Jacobs * Center for Engineering Design * U of U * t-jacobs@ced.utah.edu

It is much Microseeds Publishing of Tampa, Florida introduced INITPicker, which allows one to choose which INITs run and _alter the order_ in which they are loaded. Unlike other methods, it does not alter file types. One nice feature is the ability to automatically skip new INITs that it doesn't know about - a little extra help against the surprise virus attacks. It can be invoked at startup or from the Control Panel.
