[comp.sys.mac] Programs to launch other programs under MultiFinder

phil@mit-amt (Phil Sohn) (01/24/89)

What programs launch other programs under Multifinder? I
have played with HD Runner 1.4 and have had some problems with
crashes and non-programs (such as CDEVs, Backgrounder, etc)
being listed. Anyone know if there is a latter version or some
other program that works better?

I'm not saying there is only one, but I only know of one - On Cue. It's very
convenient, giving you a pop-up menu of your favorite applications anywhere,
anytime. You can configure the modifier keys to use to bring up the menu
anywhere or bring it up in the screen corners. The menu is hierarchical,
allowing you to attach documents to each application.

Master Juggler also allows you a popup of applications and/or tied
documents. One of MJ's best features is to remember and hide windows as
you flip from one app to another under MultiFinder (great for terminal
emulations, when you don't REALLY want to have to resize the window to
move disks in and out of drives).

Another alternative might be PowerStation by Steve Brecher (I'm not sure
if this is also being distributed by Fifth Generation ala SuitCase..?).
