I am having a problem with 2 cdevs and was wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar. First, I am using a 1 megabyte dual floppy SE with system 6.02/finder 6.1. I got a ram disk cdev from a local user group (the same one is on sumex) when I try to run it all I get is the startup icon and nothing else. When I tried this on a friends SE it worked fine. By the way, this is with no other cdevs/or inits. Has someone else used this on an SE? My second problem is with SoundMaster 1.2 - it won't startup under system 6.02 - no startup icon or anything. This happens on a friends plus and my SE. If I go back to System 4.2 it will startup fine. An interesting thing to note is that while running under 6.02 it runs fine from the control panel. Has anyone else ran into problems with this on a 1 meg machine with system 6.02? Again, no other cdevs/inits were installed. Since this machine is new I was somewhat concerned about this being hardware related - although I doubt it - hopefully I can get it resolved before my warranty expires :-). I am running SoundMaster on a SE with 6.02 and it works fine. I have had problems with the sound files being too big. Try using the Soundwave program to resample into a smaller number (like 22k to 11k) and see if that helps. It only is a problem on boot up probably because there's less memory available.
