Was this a widespread occurrence? Sigh. I seem to have run afoul of a situation I've read about but had not actually observed before. Occasionally, the "Encode BinHex file" command in StuffIt seems to produce a BinHex file that isn't quite correct. The encoded file can be decoded successfully using StuffIt's "Decode BinHex file" command, but causes BinHex 4.0 report a CRC error. It appears that the MandelZot data posting fell into this trap. The posting that arrived here can be decoded and unstuffed by StuffIt, but cannot be successfully unhexed by BinHex. I suggest using StuffIt 1.5.1 to unhex and unstuff the file; that seems to work OK for me here. If there's enough demand from people who aren't registered StuffIt users, I'll ask the moderator to post a new version of the data that's been hexed by BinHex 4.0. -- Dave Platt FIDONET: Dave Platt on 1:204/444 VOICE: (415) 493-8805 UUCP: ...!{ames,sun,uunet}!coherent!dplatt DOMAIN: dplatt@coherent.com INTERNET: coherent!dplatt@ames.arpa, ...@sun.com, ...@uunet.uu.net USNAIL: Coherent Thought Inc. 3350 West Bayshore #205 Palo Alto CA 94303
