First of the to answer the original question - the name of the 'patch' wqas SFVolMenu which is NOT the same as SFVolInit (I'll get to this later..) SFVolMenu was written by Allan Foster of the Portland MUG as his winning entry at the second annual MacHack Hack contest last June. It was simply a set of resources (and some PTCH's) that the user installed with the Installer - though it worked quite nicely and it has a more intuitive interface (since you know where the menu is - it replaces the drive button). Allan has since rewritten it to work as an INIT rather than having to use the intsaller. On theother hand, Ray Lau has written SFVolINIT which is the INIT that the others are referring to, it does a similar thing (ie. give you a pop-up list of drives while in a SFGet/Put Dialog) but to access it you click on the drive name (and you REALLY don't know it is there..). SFVolINIT also has FreeSpace and NewFolder options as well as the drive list. SFVolINIT is part of the Stuffit Utilities which are given to registered users of Stuffit. They may also be available on SUMEX. +---------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ + Leonard Rosenthol + + + President, LazerWare, inc. + + + + + + leonardr@uxe.cso.uiuc.edu + + + GEnie: MACgician + MacNET: MACgician + + Delphi: MACgician + AppleLink: D0025 + +---------------------------------+-----------------------------------+
