Recently I downloaded and installed some of the Adobe screen fonts which were posted. One of those was Courier. In the last few days I typed a paper using Courier and printed it several times. Each time, some of the headings had the two words run together. Those headings were in Courier 12 point with all upper case. The file has a blank between the two words, but a printout on an Imagewriter II ( used two different ones) does not. Does anyone have any idea why this happened or how I can avoid it in the future? I had to use Courier because I needed a monospaced font. My configuration is a Mac II running System 6.02 with five megabytes of memory, and an Apple B&W monitor. The only inits installed are Moire 2.23 and Suitcase. Thank you. #! rnews

I would double-check to see that you did not have some, but not all, of the Apple-version Courier screen fonts installed. They are different and may have different spacing somewhere. Do you have the double font size installed and are you printing High Quality? Which word processor? If by chance your system has Courier in it (standard) and you open your new Courier file with Suitcase, you will only get the original Courier in most programs. Remove the System Courier to fix this. Note also that Courier is a font designed for the LaserWriter; those often must be printed with high quality and a double size font to come out decently at all on an ImageWriter. One solution: use Monaco. -cbb -- Chris Borton borton%uva@mcvax.{nl,bitnet,uucp} Rotary Scholar, University of Amsterdam CS
