******************************** I am looking for a program that allows me to launch an application from the finder (in multifinder) without having to dig through many folders. Preferably, it should also allow a "document" to be double-clicked, say from a permanent finder-menu or an extended keyboard key. I understand that ICOM On-cue and Masterjuggler have such capabilities. How are they different? Is one superior in this kind of feature? Also, are there any PD programs that can do this? I tried Oasis a while back, but it's difficult to create equally spaced buttons, it's not really a finder addition (but a replacement), pops up the developer instead of closing when one clicks on the box (funny, ain't it?), and doesn't shut down when I command the standard finder to shut down. Any information on this topic would be highly appreciated. Also, what can I do if I bought myself a PMMU? I know about UNIX and Connectix. However, the former is out of my price range, and the latter doesn't use it to trap misguided programs. What I really would like is a C compiler with a debugger which doesn't kill my OS if the program runs amok. Is there a planned extension of MPW which can do this? And, finally, I had a program called Layout that would allow me to make files snap to their positions always. It doesn't work with 6.0.2., unfortunately. Is there a new version? Again, any information would be highly appreciated. Ivo Welch phd_ivo@gsbacd.uchicago.edu (312) 324-5036
