From the Jan. 30 InfoWorld: "...Second Wave said it will release in April an expansion card for the Mac SE/30 that will let users attach Nubus cards instead of an 030 Direct Slot card." "Expanse II/SE 30 provides eight Nubus slots and includes a 130-watt power supply and a cooling fan as well as support for three SCSI devices. The card will be priced at $2,295, the company said." You know what would be better than NuBus slots for the SE/30? More Direct Slots! Think about it. An SE/30 configured with an identical monitor/card (8-bit color) would perform better than a similarly equipped Mac IIx, just due to the fact that the SE would not have the NuBus overhead to contend with. Also, several manufacturers have comitted to the Direct Slot, meaning a chassis just for the Direct Slot would be worth it. OR.... How about a chassis with 4 NuBis slots and 4 Direct Slots!
