I think the readers of comp.sys.mac will be amused by the following paragraph taken from the Jan 20 edition of Electronic News. The "decision" refered to is September's price hike. The "result" refered to is the shift in buying to "older, low-end systems and a subsequent bulge in high-end inventories". "It was not the best decision we've made," admitted Albert A. Eisenstat, senior vice president and acting chief financial officer at Apple. "It wasn't successful." He said the result came as a surprise to Apple's usually savvy marketing staff. Gosh.
