I have started playing with Oracle for the Mac. While it will be months before I can really say something intelligent about its abilities and value, I did discover one thing that others may want to know about. There is an obscure interaction between Oracle and GateKeeper. One of the XCMDs (I think the one that starts up the engine) will crash every second time it is used. The solution is very simple- grant Resource/other priviledges to HyperCard (or FoxBase, if you're using the XCMD from within FoxBase). BTW, you will have similar problems if you try to use Stece Maller's ResCopy (which is included in Oracle's System Stack). Has anyone yet done anything interesting with Mac Oracle?
